Our partnership reached new heights as we co-hosted the announcement of this year’s Naismith Good Sportsmanship Award recipients during the 2024 Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies Classic in Greeneville, TN.
A Historic Celebration of Sportsmanship
The Naismith family, whose patriarch Dr. James Naismith invented the game of basketball, continues to uphold his vision of using the sport as a tool for character development. This year’s Naismith Good Sportsmanship Award was presented to two of basketball’s most iconic figures: Dr. Shaquille O’Neal and Ms. Caitlin Clark.
As Margaret Naismith eloquently put it:

The trip included a press conference at the local YMCA (highlighting the importance of the Y being the birthplace of the sport we love, thanks to the family’s namesake - Dr. James Naismith), a tour of the SRV Trainer factory and, of course, watching some great young women’s basketball."
